Liana Loewus was an assistant managing editor for Education Week who oversaw news coverage of teaching and learning. Since joining Education Week in 2010, she covered curriculum, instruction, state standards, and teacher policy issues as a reporter, and served as the associate editor for Education Week Teacher. Previously, she worked as a health-care reporter and an editor for a website on learning disabilities. Loewus also spent several years as an elementary special education teacher and a reading specialist. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in special education from the University of Phoenix.
