“Investing Wisely in Adult Learning is Key to State Prosperity,” is available from the Southern Regional Education Board.
A lack of adult-learning opportunities has had a major impact on employment, personal income, and health care in Southern states, concludes a report from the Southern Regional Education Board.
The report calls on the 16 SREB member states to provide more ways for young adults to continue their learning. It cites Kentucky’s efforts to help 60,000 people earn General Educational Development credentials in the past five years and to more than double the percentage of those students who proceed to postsecondary education.
