ELECTIONS

Adrienne Y. Bailey, senior staff associate at the Chicago Community Trust and a former president o the education committee of the Illinois House of Representatives, has been elected chairman of the Illinois State Board of Education.

Edward Copeland, lawyer in Chicago and former member of the education committee of the Illinois House of Representatives, has been elected chairman of the Illinois State Board of Education.

Stephen N. Judy, professor of English and director of English education at Michigan State University has been elected vice president of the National Council of Teachers of English, effective November 22.

Herbert F. Oliver, principal of the Clark and Wilkins schools, Amherst, N.H., has been elected president-elect of the Northeast Regional Elementary Principals Association.
