OTHER HONORS AND AWARDS
Continental Cablevision along with the Discovery Channel has awarded seven teams of elementary students and their teachers a five-day “mission” at the U.S. Space Camp in Huntsville, Ala. The prize is part of a national contest called “Suit Up for the Space Shuttle,” which had teams of students research, design, and construct a model space suit for a mission to the planet of their choice. Alfred L. McDougal, retired president and chief executive officer, McDougal Littell & Company, has been named the winner of the 1995 Mary McNaulty Award, sponsored by the Association of American Publishers, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to educational publishing.
