OTHER HONORS AND AWARDS

Continental Cablevision along with the Discovery Channel has awarded seven teams of elementary students and their teachers a five-day “mission” at the U.S. Space Camp in Huntsville, Ala. The prize is part of a national contest called “Suit Up for the Space Shuttle,” which had teams of students research, design, and construct a model space suit for a mission to the planet of their choice. The winners are listed below by teacher, grade, and school.

Alfred L. McDougal, retired president and chief executive officer, McDougal Littell & Company, has been named the winner of the 1995 Mary McNaulty Award, sponsored by the Association of American Publishers, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to educational publishing.

Mark L. Richie, director, Burlington County (N.J.) A.V.A. Center, has been awarded the 1995 Herbert Braselman Distinguished Service Award by the National Association of Regional Media Centers, in recognition of his contributions to the field of educational media and technology.
