Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius was selected as the chair-elect of the Education Commission of the States this month. She will hold that position until next July, when she will begin a two-year term as ecs chairwoman.
Gov. Sebelius, 57, takes over as chair-elect for New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, who decided he was unable to fulfill the duties of the chair-elect position because of gubernatorial commitments.
The Denver-based ECS collects, analyzes, and disseminates information about state education policy to legislators and state education officials.
