Kevin P. Chavous was named last week as a Distinguished Fellow with the Center for Education Reform.
Mr. Chavous, 48, served three terms as a member of the District of Columbia Council, and was the chairman of the council’s committee on education, libraries, and recreation. He currently practices law with the Washington-based firm of Sonnenschein, Nath, and Rosenthal, and is the author of Serving Our Children: Charter Schools and the Reform of American Public Education.
The Washington-based Center for Education Reform is a national advocacy group that promotes education improvement. Its membership includes more than 1,000 people.
