Patricia A. Kinney has been chosen as the president-elect of the National Middle School Association.
Ms. Kinney, 52, who is the principal of the 700-student Talent Middle School in Talent, Ore., succeeds Kathy McAvoy, who will serve as the group’s president for the same one-year term, which began Nov. 7. Ms. McAvoy is the director of the state-sponsored Regional Teacher Development Center in Ellsworth, Maine.
The Columbus, Ohio-based association represents more than 29,000 middle-level educators and parents.
