The majority of high school seniors expect to graduate from college with at least a four-year college degree, a survey found.
“A Profile of the American High School Senior in 2004: A First Look” is available from the National Center for Education Statistics.
According to the study—conducted by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics—34 percent of seniors expect to earn a four-year college degree, and another 35 percent expect to complete a four-year degree and a graduate or professional program. And 18 percent said they planned to attend college, or complete a two-year postsecondary program.
The nationally representative survey of more than 13,000 12th graders is a follow-up to the Educational Longitudinal Study of 2002.
