Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota has joined the board of directors of Achieve, a Washington-based nonprofit organization founded by governors and business leaders that helps states with efforts to improve education. He succeeds a fellow Republican, Gov. Michael Rounds of South Dakota, who stepped down to focus on issues in his state.
Gov. Pawlenty, 45, was also named the chairman of the National Governors Association’s education, early-childhood, and workforce committee last month.
