But parents’ presence at the school volunteering, for instance, or attending meetings had little impact in those students’ perceptions of school safety, researchers at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign found. The study, published in June in the Journal of Child and Family Studies, draws on a nationally representative sample of more than 1,200 students.
