Ed Tech & Innovation: Educators Tear Through the Hype

K-12 educators do not believe the continued expansion of new technologies into U.S. schools is transforming education. In fact, a new nationally representative survey of 700 teachers conducted by the Education Week Research Center shows that fewer than one-third of America’s teachers said ed-tech innovations have changed their beliefs about what school should look like. To change that dynamic, some school and district leaders are turning to innovation lessons from the business world, which tends to be more open to risk-taking; education companies are trying to do a better job solving problems for schools; and teachers are showing how experimentation with digital tools can improve classroom instruction.
