Barbara B. Blackburn began a one-year term this month as the president of the American School Counselor Association’s governing board. She is a school counselor at Greenbrier East High School in Lewisburg, W.Va.
Ms. Blackburn held the office of president-elect of the governing board before becoming president.
The ASCA, based in Alexandria, Va., is a nonprofit organization providing publications and other professional resources to about 18,000 school counselors nationwide.
