Brief Filed in NCLB Suit

The attorney general of Connecticut has filed a brief opposing the federal government’s motion to dismiss his state’s lawsuit against U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings for alleged violations of the provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act. Richard Blumenthal filed the brief Dec. 23, repeating his state’s contention that the law is an unfunded mandate that forces states to spend millions. The federal government filed its motion to the lawsuit Dec. 2.
