1 Translucent materials enable light to flow naturally into the upper hallways.

2 Light is transported down to the lower hallways through mirrored cylinders atop the lockers.

3 Classrooms have windows allowing light to flow in from the hallways.

4 The floors are covered with linoleum, a material that requires little or no maintenance.

5 White paint makes the most of the light coming into the school, brightening hallways and classrooms.

Security, Simplicity Part of School Plan

  • Large windows at the ends of the hallways overlook the parking lot, providing additional light, while also doubling as aids to security.
  • Portions of the building, such as the gym and the theater, can be shut off as a security measure when the building is being used after regular school hours.
  • The school’s simple structure, with few decorative details, helps make it easy to keep clean.
