A new policy brief from the Alliance for Excellent Education makes the case that online technology could help secondary schools address coming teacher shortages, stretch education dollars when economic-stimulus funds dry up, and expand learning opportunities for students.
Education has trailed most other sectors in effectively applying new technologies, said report author Bob Wise, the president of the Washington-based group and a former governor of West Virginia, but now is the time to move from thinking about technology as an add-on tool to ensuring that it is integrated into all educational settings.
