A small-business owner who home-schools her children said last week she’s running to be South Carolina’s education superintendent.
Elizabeth Moffly of Awendaw is entering the Republican race for 2010. It is her second bid for the job. In the 2006 Republican primary, she came in fourth of five candidates. She later endorsed Democrat Jim Rex, who won the post. Mr. Rex is running for governor in 2010.
Other announced candidates include Republican Brent Nelsen, a Furman University professor, and Democrat Frank Holleman, a Greenville lawyer.
