Carl P. Paladino, who made inflammatory remarks about former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, has been kicked off the Buffalo, N.Y., school board.
State education Commissioner MaryEllen Elia made the decision, ruling that he broke election law with his disclosure of confidential information about board business.
Following Paladino’s comments about the Obamas in December, a formal petition was launched to have him removed, and a five-day hearing was held to decide his fate. Since he voiced the racially charged comments, board meetings have been disrupted on numerous occasions to protest his continued presence.
